About NHIVNA

Since its inception in 1998, NHIVNA has been committed to the formation of a national body in the UK to bring together nurses from various disciplines working in the challenging environment of HIV patient care. The Executive Committee is keen to create a forum for the exchange of information, to share examples of good practice and to encourage and support nursing related research. Also NHIVNA is committed to provide educational meetings organised by nurses specifically for nurses and to provide a network of peer support.

The Executive Committee draws on representatives from various disciplines (clinical research, mental health, sexual health, paediatrics, acute care and community).

NHIVNA has grown into an association with over 300 members and became a registered charity in the United Kingdom in 2003 (Registered Charity Number: 1099074).  Membership benefits include subscription to the key journal HIV Nursing, the NHIVNA Newsletter and free attendance at NHIVNA Study Days.
