NHIVNA Nicky Perry Academic Award

Background

The National HIV Nurses Association (NHIVNA) announced the Nicky Perry Academic Award at the NHIVNA Annual Conference in June 2008 to acknowledge the contribution that Nicky Perry made to NHIVNA for more than 10 years.
 

Purpose and Aim

The aim of this award is to support a nurse working within the field of HIV nursing to undertake a postgraduate programme of study.
 

Eligibility

12 months’ NHIVNA membership, continuation as a NHIVNA member throughout the award period and for future years. Nurses must be currently working in an acute or community setting with direct patient care as part of, or their entire role.
 

Judging Panel

Nicky Perry, Nathaniel Ault, Catrin Evans, Sheila Morris and Eileen Nixon.
Other NHIVNA Executive Committee members will assist as required if there are any conflicts of interest with the judging panel.
 

The Nicky Perry Academic Award

  • the award will not be offered for 2012/2013
  • it will be advertised again in autumn 2012
  • it will provide a stipend to be put towards a programme of postgraduate study starting 2013
  • terms, conditions and amount to be confirmed
