NHIVNA Awards

Krattinger Rennison Charitable Trust Nursing Research Award

Awarded for an original piece of research presented at the NHIVNA Annual Conference either as an oral or poster presentation. A NHIVNA invited expert panel will judge the award and winning presenters will receive a financial award up to a maximum of £1,000 and be required to write up their research in the journal HIV Nursing.

NHIVNA/Boehringer Ingelheim Clinical Practice Award

Awarded for a clinical practice initiative that has made an impact on patient care presented at the NHIVNA Annual Conference either as an oral or poster presentation. A NHIVNA invited expert panel will judge the award and winning presenters will receive a financial award up to a maximum of £1,000.

NHIVNA/BMS Best Poster Award

Awarded for the best poster presentation displayed at the NHIVNA Annual Conference. A NHIVNA invited expert panel will judge the award and winning presenters will receive a financial award up to a maximum of £500.


NHIVNA 2009 Scholarships


NHIVNA Student Nurse Registration Concession Awards

NHIVNA are pleased to offer up to ten NHIVNA Student Nurse Registration Concession Awards to assist student nurses to attend the NHIVNA Annual Conference. To be eligible for a scholarship, student nurses need to apply in writing when submitting their registration form to the Conference Organiser by 27 March 2009. Successful applicants will be eligible to register at the reduced registration rate of £50, and will be notified by 10 April 2009.

NHIVNA/Boehringer Ingelheim Junior Nurse Scholarships

NHIVNA and Boehringer Ingelheim are pleased to offer up to eight scholarships to attend the NHIVNA Annual Conference. The award includes free registration, a contribution of a maximum of £150 towards accommodation, and a maximum of £50 towards travel expenses. To be eligible for a scholarship you must not have been awarded this scholarship in 2008 and must have worked as a nurse in an acute or community setting, caring for people with HIV, for two years or less. Please send a biography and a supporting statement (no more than 250 words) of why you would like to attend the conference, signed by your manager, to the Conference Organisers by 27 March 2009. Places will be awarded by the NHIVNA Executive Committee and successful applicants will be notified by 10 April 2009.

NHIVNA Study Day Scholarships

NHIVNA is planning to hold a Pre-Conference Study Day in collaboration with one or more sponsors. It is planned that NHIVNA Study Day Scholarships will be available for those who are able to attend both the NHIVNA Annual Conference on 25–26 June, and the NHIVNA Pre-Conference Study Day on Wednesday 24 June. Exact details of support are yet to be finalised and further details regarding how to register for the Pre-Conference Study Day will be announced shortly. The proposed topic to be covered at the Pre-Conference Study Day is Cardiovascular risk assessment, and if you wish to express an interest in applying for a scholarship, please tick the appropriate box on the Registration Form.
