We welcome abstract submissions from nurses of all grades, health advisors and allied healthcare professionals in HIV.
Notes for preparing your abstract
It is essential that your abstract conforms to the preparation guidelines.
Important information. Please read carefully
1. Registration is necessary for presentation and publication of the abstract. Submissions without a registration form will not be put forward for review.
2. All research entries will be considered for a Krattinger Rennison Charitable Trust Nursing Research Award.
3. Your presentations may be eligible for one of the other conference awards.
Guidelines
1. Your abstract must be submitted in the form outlined below. Please provide one anonymous copy, together with a version that includes authors and affiliations, saved to memory-stick or disc (MS Word), which should be clearly labelled with the presenting author’s name. Alternatively, you may wish to send it by email to: andy@mediscript.ltd.uk Please include the relevant details contained in the abstract submission form in the body of your email.
2. A maximum of 400 words is allowed, excluding title, name(s) of author(s) and affiliation(s). Abstracts that are longer than 400 words will be arbitrarily cut and penalties will be imposed. Please use short, specific titles and standard abbreviations that must be defined.
3. Abstract titles should use an initial capital only. The author(s)’ initials, last name and institution should follow the title. Underline the presenting author.
4. The abstract should be informative and contain a brief statement of the study’s objective, the methods, a clear presentation of results and a conclusion.
5. All abstracts will be reviewed by the NHIVNA Executive Committee, who will allocate abstracts to be presented either orally or as a poster. The Conference Organisers will contact you to confirm which format your abstract is to take. Delegates submitting successful poster abstracts will be given details of the required poster format. Oral presentations will be allocated a maximum of 20 minutes, which is to include time for questions.
6. Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference literature and in HIV Nursing. Abstracts will be reproduced from emailed document provided. Presentations need not be exclusive to this meeting and may be presented elsewhere. It is responsibility of the author to obtain permission, where necessary, for the publication of the abstract in HIV Nursing.
