Registration procedure

To register, complete the registration form and return it with your payment to the NHIVNA Conference Organisers as soon as possible.

The early registration fee applies only if the registration form and the payment are received by 2 May 2008. Confirmation of registration will be forwarded by the conference organisers. It remains the responsibility of the delegate to ensure that payment by any trust or department is received by the NHIVNA Conference Organisers. Please note that, in principle, invoices cannot be raised for individual registration fees.

The registration fee includes access to all conference sessions, the exhibition area, lunch and refreshments throughout the conference. In addition, all delegates are invited to the Gala Dinner on Thursday 26 June. Following the conference, a Conference Newsletter will be sent to all delegates.

Please note there will be some general photographs taken during the conference which may be displayed in the lecture theatre during the event, and subsequently reproduced in NHIVNA publications and/or displayed on the NHIVNA website. By registering for the conference you agree for NHIVNA to utilise any photographs taken during the conference in this way. NHIVNA will not pass these images on to any third party.

Membership

Please note that non-NHIVNA members may register for the conference at the reduced rate applying to NHIVNA members if their registration forms are accompanied by a completed NHIVNA membership form and the appropriate payment.

Cancellation

Providing that written notice is received by 23 May 2008, 75% of the registration fee will be refunded. No refunds will be made for any cancellations received after this date, although it will be possible to substitute a delegate of the SAME FEE CATEGORY up to the date of the conference. If the meeting cannot be held for any reason, the meeting organiser’s liability will be limited to a refund of the appropriate meeting fee only.

Abstracts

Please refer to the preparation instructions on page 12 of this Announcement. All delegates wishing to present abstracts need to be registered and may wish to note that registration rates increase after the abstract deadline on 2 May 2008.

Awards and Scholarships

Royal College of Nursing Accreditation

This conference has applied for accreditation from the Royal College of Nursing. If accepted, delegates will be entitled to receive RCN credits at the rate of one RCN credit per conference hour (exclusive of travel, refreshments, social events and satellite symposia). The conference will be allocated a maximum of 6 RCN credits per conference day.

Accommodation

Please note that the registration fee does not include accommodation. The Glasgow Marriott Hotel is the Conference Hotel. Preferential rates have been negotiated with the hotel at £99 per night for single occupation. To make a booking please contact the hotel directly on 020 7012 7662 quoting the booking reference A15. The booking deadline is 2 May 2008, and rates cannot be guaranteed after this date. The hotel allocation is limited and consequently will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis. Further accommodation has been organised at a variety of hotels nearby at slightly lower rates. If you would like to enquire after these, please contact IHC Venues, who provide a free hotel reservation service, quoting reference NHIVNA 2008.

Gala Dinner

Registration includes attendance at the Gala Dinner; but to try and ensure funds are not wasted, it is necessary for you to tick the box on the registration form in order to reserve a ticket for this event.

This year the dinner will be held at Òran Mór (meaning ‘great melody of life’ or ‘big song’), a cultural centre and meeting place located in the heart of Glasgow’s West End. Òran Mór opened its doors in June 2004 and has since introduced a varying programme of events including new musical talents, comedy nights, and regular club nights.

Òran Mór is situated on the corner of Byres Road and Great Western Road, opposite the Botanic Gardens.
