NHIVNA is the leading UK professional association representing nurses in HIV care. Founded in 1998, it is committed to providing excellence in the care of those living with and affected by HIV.
NHIVNA aims to:
Provide an academic and educational forum for the dissemination of original nursing research in the field of HIV
Advance education amongst members of the nursing profession about good nursing practices
Promote improved standards of nursing care of patients with HIV
Support research into the promotion of HIV nursing skills and aims to publish the results of such research for the benefit of the public.
New members
The membership year opens on 1 November through to 31 December in the following year. Members may join at any time during the year.
Membership renewal
Existing members must renew their membership and pay their annual subscription fee by 31 March in the membership year. Any members not having paid by this date will cease to be a member of the Association.
Cancellation of membership
Providing that written notice is received no later than 14 working days before the renewals due date of 31 March each year or the collection date (if paying by DD), a full refund will be made. No refunds will be made for any cancellations received after this date. Written notice should be emailed to membership@nhivna.org.

Membership email policies
Security
NHIVNA values your security and we try to ensure that messages are virus-free. NHIVNA accepts no liability for any damage inflicted by viewing the content of emails to members.
Data protection
As a member of NHIVNA, you have provided personal information which we retain and use, having regard to the relevant data protection legislation. The information you provided during your membership application will be updated over time so that we have current information about your grade, post and contact details. We use the information you provide to send you updates, emails and notifications. We will also invite you to participate in elections for roles within NHIVNA and to participate in surveys and consultations that NHIVNA believes will contribute to the practice of HIV care. We will also share your name and address and preferred email with the journal publishers, Mark Allen Healthcare, for the purpose of sending you the NHIVNA National HIV Nursing Journal supplement in the BJN. NHIVNA retains membership information indefinitely, although any member resigning from NHIVNA can request that their data be deleted by emailing the NHIVNA Secretariat. We will take all reasonable physical, electronic and administrative steps to safeguard and protect personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, inadvertent disclosure, alteration and destruction. NHIVNA will not sell your details to any third parties nor share your details with any unrelated third parties without your consent unless we are legally obliged to do so.
We will also send you emails from third parties, including pharmaceutical companies, that NHIVNA believes will be of interest to you. Such emails may contain branded content produced by third parties. You can unsubscribe from receiving third party emails at any time by emailing the Secretariat at: membership@nhivna.org.
