The Pregnancy Journey when you are living with HIV

The Pregnancy Journey when you are living with HIV, made in collaboration with the Salamander Trust and our mentor mothers living with HIV.

These short films stress the importance of a multidisciplinary approach and how patients can be supported to be involved in their care. They were devised, filmed and edited by the women who are mothers, peer mothers and staff of Positively UK in reaction to their own experiences of living with HIV. All the content and film-making is their own. It was created as part of a collaboration between Positively UK and Salamander Trust with social research and film-trainer Dr Dominique Chadwick of Social Films.

Online tools

HIV & Contraception

This tool, developed by NAM, is designed to give personalised information about contraception and the choices are available. Patients will be asked a series of questions about their health, any contraception that they are using at the moment, and their preferences. The information will be used to compile a detailed, personal guide.

HIV & Pregnancy

This tool, developed by NAM, is designed to give personalised information about having a baby. Patients will be asked a series of questions about their health, their partner and their preferences. The information will be used to compile a detailed, personal guide.

Patients may find it useful if they are:

  • a woman living with HIV and are pregnant,
  • a woman living with HIV and would like to become pregnant, or
  • an HIV-negative woman, have an HIV-positive male partner, and would like to become pregnant.

Patient information leaflets for generic ARVs

HIVPA are working with NAM to produce a number of leaflets for patients switching to generic antiretrovirals.  As there is typically more than one supplier in the UK market for any generic they elected not to include any images or references to particular products.  They are designed to be printed on A4 and either printed double sided, or single sided and cut down to A5.
